Cable Installation

Cable covering and cable securing

Subsea cable installation is a challenging, precise and expensive operation. Once cable or pipelines have been laid, the process of securing them to the seabed involves the dumping of thousands of tons of stones, from gravel to rocks weighing up to 800kg or more, via a specialised vessel onto the seabed. The Greenstick offers a new solution for securing cables and pipelines to the seabed without need to transport vast quantities of quarried rock out to sea, resulting in financial, environmental and ecological benefits. Hydraulic power from ship supplies winch on board subsea plough - pulling on Greenstick to release and deploy cable. Greensticks can also be used as a method to attached cables securely to the sea floor.
