Structural Support

Greenstick has the potential to offer a bracing solution for offshore wind turbines.  It is relatively straightforward to brace an airborne structure but until now, there hasn’t been an effective underwater bracing method available. Depending on the level of support required, multiple Greensticks could be deployed to stabilise the structure.
Protection from tidal scour is essential to maintain the stability of an offshore turbine.  Existing practice involves dumping  thousands of tons of rocks onto the seabed around the pile foundations, securing the structure, to help prevent scour.  Not only is this method expensive but ecologically and environmentally unsound. Greenstick is fully scalable and, with the addition of Greenstick walls, a structure could be built around the base of each of the holding piles to effectively limit scour and provide the turbine with an additional level of support in the process.
